Nostalgia

It began with one of those friendships that feel like they’re meant to last a lifetime.

Something beautiful in its disaster, a chaotic wonderland where love didn’t need to be romantic in order to be perfect. It survived a decade, lived through trauma, nirvana, and everything in between.

But then, it just…disappeared.

A forgotten wedding invitation. A text message left on read. A promise of “we’ll talk every day” that got lost in a marriage, a pregnancy, a life.

The friendship faded. Became white noise in a past better left tucked away in the back of a closet of memories. A finite lifetime.

Yet you can’t just forget a friendship like that. Destiny won’t allow it.

Neither will Death.
